All walks of life leads to the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair, ZITF, were a musical show, dubbed the Shut Down Show will take place.
DTL and Harris Hotels will be promoting Bulawayo’s hottest musical extravaganza as they bring onto one stage international and local artists to usher the City of Kings and Queens into the festive mood.
HCM Music Festival has been dubbed the Showdown of the year by Gugugaga hit maker Mzoe7.
Fans got ecstatic after promotional material for the festival were shared online, alongside posters on the streets.
Kudzi “Dee Nosh” Matondo, a deejay, promoter and founder of DTL records said,
“This is the first biggest show where we have put international and local artists on one stage. I have done a few shows in Bulawayo but this one is the first event with a huge line up”.
He added that ticket sales were moving fast and they are still encouraging fans who have not gotten their tickets to do so, as the event will be packed with international and local musical stars.
There are several local artists who will battle it out with International artists who are set to rock the stage on the day.
Internationally renowned, local Zim Dancehall Chanter, Gaffer Winky D, will churn out his greatest hits to his multitude of fans, he will share the stage with Bulawayo’s own, Mzoe7.
When we caught up with Mzoe 7, this is what he had to say of the festival:
“I can say this is going to be the shutdown show for this year.I am going to be bringing new music to the people and new choreography since i haven’t been realising music because of the Covid- 19 pandemic. Imagine having two festive seasons with people being grounded by the Covid- 19 regulations so this festive i have to give people something solid and different. I have a new music video that I’m going to realise day before the festival and i assure you it is going to be the “song for christmas”.
South African duo of “Amaroto” fame (Reece Madlisa and Zuma) popularly known for their hit song Megalo, Master KG popularly known for his track “Jerusalema” which trended all over the world, Dladla Mshunqisi and Mthokozisi “DJ Tira” Khathi known by his Zimbabwean name Dirarizare Marufu will prove their mantle with the popular Amapiano genre that has taken southern hemisphere by storm.
Zimbabwe and Bulawayo in particular has a multitude fan base of the genre that has its roots in South Africa.
Some of the Zimbabwean artists in the line up include Jah signal, Fab G and Mufali. On decks the fans should expect DJ Mzoe, DJ Nospa, DJ Liz and DJ Yona.
The MC for the day is going to be Mtkay Ntwana with prominent Bulawayo socialite, businessman and media personality Babongile Sikhonjwa.
