“Tambudzai Manjera (24) has since been arrested in connection with this case,” the police statement read. “Her accomplice, Tanaka Manjera (22), is still at large. More information will follow in due course.”
Authorities have urged members of the public with information on the whereabouts of the second suspect to come forward as investigations continue.
Stock Theft Suspects Apprehended, Meat Recovered
In a separate operation, police have arrested two men in connection with two cases of stock theft that occurred in Chinhoyi and Murombedzi, leading to the recovery of 80 kilogrammes of beef.
The ZRP confirmed the arrest of Cephas Matsiru (44) and Wayne Chipfunda (41) in connection with incidents on 18 February 2026 and 19 February 2026, where four cattle were stolen from a plot in Chitomborwizi, Chinhoyi, and Madzima Village, Murombedzi.

Investigations have since established that the suspects slaughtered the stolen cattle before selling the meat at a low price, a practice authorities have warned poses serious health risks to unsuspecting buyers.
Police Appeal for Information on Fatal Hit-and-Runs
The ZRP has also issued an appeal for information that may assist in the investigation of two separate hit-and-run incidents that occurred on 20 February 2026, one fatal and the other resulting in serious injury.
The first incident occurred at around 2100 hours at the three-kilometre peg along Chegutu-Chakari Road. A 39-year-old man was killed after being hit by an unknown motorist who did not stop at the scene.
In a separate incident, at around 1830 hours on the same day, a 19-year-old pedestrian was injured after being hit by an unknown motorist at the 33-kilometre peg along Harare-Bulawayo Road in Norton.
