RESIDENTS of Mkoba in Gweru are living in fear following a series of violent attacks that left three people stabbed at Mkoba 6 Business Centre on Thursday evening, with the suspect still at large.

Midlands Provincial police spokesperson Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko confirmed the incidents, stating that the motive behind the attacks remains unknown.

“The victims, Nothando Ncube (34), Oscar Matema (31), and a 13-year-old juvenile, were stabbed in separate incidents within a short distance of each other on Thursday evening,” Inspector Mahoko said.

According to police, the attacks appear to be random, with no apparent reason or prior interaction between the suspect and victims.

“Nothando Ncube and the 13-year-old are receiving treatment at Gweru Provincial Hospital, while Oscar Matema has been discharged,” Inspector Mahoko added.

The assailant remains on the loose, sparking fear among Mkoba residents who are now concerned for their safety, particularly around the busy business centre.

Police have launched a manhunt for the suspect and are appealing to the public for any information that could lead to his identification and arrest.

“We are appealing to members of the public with information that may assist in identifying and apprehending the suspect to come forward,” Inspector Mahoko said.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the nearest police station.
