Promoter Accuses Silent Killer of Fraud, Fails to Perform After Advance Payment

HARARE – Prominent DJ and event organizer, DJ Ollah, has publicly accused musician Silent Killer of fraud, alleging the artist received payment but failed to perform at a scheduled event last December, leading to a formal police report.

The dispute centers around a Christmas Day event. In a detailed social media statement, DJ Ollah sought to clarify the sequence of events, asserting that Silent Killer was never originally billed for the show.

“Silent Killer wasn’t on my poster or part of the performers,” stated Ollah.

“He called me a day before the show asking to be added on the list and I told him that I do not have money since my budget was strained. He insisted that he wanted to perform, ‘tipei zviripo mdara basa torova’, these were his words.”

Ollah claims that on December 23, he acquiesced and gave Silent Killer $500 in cash after the musician’s persistent requests.

“He promised to come and perform and I asked him several times and he promised to come.”

The situation escalated on the day of the event. Ollah alleges that Silent Killer’s associate, Lalo, requested fuel money.

“Their former manager General Ovi sent him the money via Ecocash, upon receiving the money they switched off their phones till the next day.”

After unsuccessful attempts to contact the musician for a refund, Ollah took legal action.

“This led me to then file a report through the ZRP,” he confirmed, adding that he had recorded all relevant conversations.

“I have everything that he said over the phone and in person on the record.”

Ollah also revealed this was not an isolated incident, alleging Silent Killer failed to honor a separate commitment to promoter Chipaz in Bulawayo on December 27 after receiving a $1,500 advance plus an additional $100 for fuel.

“Chipaz called me achitochemawo naye and I said, I’m also looking for him,” Ollah shared.

The promoter concluded with a direct question to the public:

“The question is, dai uriwe wakapa Munhu mari wausina kudaidza asi akukumbira ndiye kuti aridze waiita sei kana asina kuuya uye asina kukupa mari yako? Isn’t this fraud?”

Silent Killer has yet to issue a public response to the allegations.
