Premier League giants Chelsea have appointed English coach Liam Rosenior as their new head coach, signing him on a six-and-a-half-year contract that runs until 2032.

‎ Rosenior joins the Stamford Bridge outfit following a successful stint at French side Strasbourg, a club also owned by Chelsea’s parent company, BlueCo.

‎Who is Liam Rosenior?

‎Rosenior’s managerial journey began with Brighton & Hove Albion’s U23 team, before serving as assistant manager to Wayne Rooney at Derby County. He earned his first permanent managerial role at Hull City, leading the club to a seventh-place finish in the Championship, narrowly missing out on the play-offs.

‎At Strasbourg, he guided the team to a historic qualification for the UEFA Conference League, impressing observers with his tactical acumen.

‎Chelsea fans will also be familiar with Rosenior’s playing career. A dependable full-back and winger, he made nearly 400 senior appearances over 16 years, featuring for Bristol City, Fulham, Reading, Hull City, and Brighton & Hove Albion.

‎ He retired in 2018 after helping Brighton secure promotion to the Premier League. ‎Rosenior inherits a squad in transition at Stamford Bridge and will be tasked with restoring Chelsea’s competitiveness both domestically and in Europe. The long-term contract reflects the club’s confidence in his vision and ability to build a sustained legacy.

‎Over the years, Rosenior has steadily built his reputation as a coach who develops young talent while maintaining tactical discipline. His career timeline includes spells as Interim Manager at Derby County in 2022, Head Coach at Hull City from 2022 to 2024, Head Coach at Strasbourg from 2024 to 2026, and now Head Coach at Chelsea from 2026 to 2032.

‎With his blend of Premier League experience, coaching pedigree, and track record in European competitions, Rosenior’s appointment signals a bold new era for Chelsea, with high hopes for long-term success at Stamford Bridge.
