A 16-year-old girl from Chitungwiza is appealing for public assistance to raise US$500 for urgent surgery to treat a rare and severe skin condition affecting her face.
Her parents, who have chosen to protect her identity due to her age, say they are unable to raise the required amount for the medical procedure. They are pleading with well-wishers to donate via EcoCash or to contact her mother directly.
The girl’s mother, Priviledge Zambuko, explained the critical need for swift intervention.
“We are rushing so that this condition does not become permanent before our child can be treated, to avoid long-term health complications,” she said.
“The child needs an operation here in the country, but at the moment we do not have the means or the money for her to be helped. We are asking the public who may be able to assist with money; US$500 is needed at the hospital we visited,” stated Mai Zambuko.
She detailed the medical urgency, noting,
“My child’s problem is a persistent skin rash on her face, so doctors say she must undergo surgery and receive treatment so it does not continue to spread. They also say if the operation is not done, it could permanently damage her face.”
Those wishing to help the teenager can donate via EcoCash or call her mother, Priviledge Zambuko, on 0785 872 803.
