Following a disappointing performance in Pretoria on Reconciliation Day, eMtee Records has issued a public apology, citing artist exhaustion from an overloaded schedule as the cause.

The record label stated that eMtee performed at five different venues on December 16, part of a “back-to-back” summer tour, which ultimately led to fatigue that compromised the quality of his Pretoria show.

Fans in attendance reported a performance lacking the rapper’s characteristic high energy.

In a press release, the label directly addressed the fan disappointment and outlined a plan for restitution.

“We acknowledge the disappointment this caused and appreciate the understanding of our loyal supporters,” the statement read.

“eMtee is deeply sorry for falling short of expectations and is committed to making it right. We’re working closely with event organizers to schedule a follow-up show, ensuring our fans in Pretoria experience the unforgettable performance they deserve.”

The apology highlights the constant balance labels and artists must strike between commercial demands, artist well-being, and fan satisfaction.

eMtee Records emphasized its commitment to both its artist’s health and its audience, stating they

“prioritize the well-being of our artists and the satisfaction of our fans.”

No date has been announced for the proposed follow-up show, but the label confirms discussions with organizers are underway.
