BULAWAYO – A 30-year-old man from Queenspark East, Mgcini Ndlovu has appeared before the court facing charges of assault following a violent altercation that took place at the Queenspark east shops.
According to the court’s case, the incident took place on 24 November 2025, where Ndlovu allegedly attacked another man, Zwelibanzi Ncube (40) during a confrontation.
It is alleged that during the confrontation, Ndlovu assaulted Ncube by slapping him with open hands, punched him several times with clenched fists, and kicked him all over the body.
“Ncube sustained some bruises on the left eye, shoulder and forehead where he was medically examined”.
The state alleges that Ndlovu acted unlawfully, intending to cause bodily harm or knowing there was a real risk that harm could result from his actions.
Ndlovu has been charged with the crime of assault under Section 89(1)(a) of the Criminal Law (Codification and Reform) Act [Chapter 9:23].
The case has sparked concern within the local community, with calls for peaceful conflict resolution and stronger measures against violence in public spaces.
