As schools prepare to open for the 2026 academic year, a heartwarming community campaign is underway to ensure no child is left behind due to lack of basic school supplies.
The initiative, themed “Equip Young Minds, Empower a Sustainable Tomorrow,” is collecting stationery to support disadvantaged learners while promoting eco-conscious education.
Driven by a passion for giving back, the initiative is being led by a young organizer who has turned a personal milestone into a mission of impact.
“I’m looking for stationery so that I can go donate it to less privileged children. This is part of my birthday celebration. I usually celebrate my birthday at an orphanage, but this time I want to do something different. I just want to source stationery donations so I can put a smile on other children’s faces,” said the campaign’s founder Lorraine Mheyamwa.
The donation drive is calling on well-wishers to contribute pens, pencils, notebooks, rulers, and other essential learning tools. These will be distributed to children in rural and vulnerable communities before schools reopen in January.
How to Donate:
Donations can be dropped off or arranged via:
📞 0780 597 880 or 0735 070 780
Beyond providing supplies, the campaign also aims to inspire environmental responsibility by nurturing future climate leaders through education. It emphasizes the link between empowerment and sustainability.
The initiative echoes a powerful verse from Galatians 6:9:
“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the right time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”
Community members are encouraged to support the campaign and share its message using hashtags:
SupportOurSchools #SustainTheDream #BirthdayWithPurpose
With one act of kindness, a young change-maker is helping others prepare for school and planting seeds of hope for a brighter, eco-friendly future.
