Senior ZANU-PF Minister Calls for Pardon of Expelled Member Blessed Geza

Mashonaland East Provincial Chairperson and Minister of Local Government, Daniel Garwe, has publicly urged the ruling ZANU-PF party to readmit expelled former member Blessed Geza, emphasizing the need for unity and an end to internal conflict.

Speaking at a party gathering, Garwe described Geza’s actions as “childish behaviour” but stressed the importance of moving forward.

“He was erroneously encouraged to think that he could get away with childish behaviour in the party,” Garwe stated, while calling for reconciliation.

The Minister’s appeal extended beyond Geza’s case, framing it as part of a broader initiative to foster unity and halt internal divisions.

“We have been taught the value of forgiveness, and from this day forward let us all refrain from insulting one another,” Garwe told attendees, directly addressing the need to mend fractured relationships within the party.

He extended an olive branch to the expelled member, saying,

“Let us forgive each other, including Geza. He was misled and influenced by others, just as many of us have been influenced before.”

Blessed Geza, once a prominent ZANU-PF figure and member of the party’s Central Committee, was expelled after a dramatic call for nationwide protests in March 2025.

The planned demonstrations, which failed to gain public traction, were based on allegations of corruption involving business figures Kudakwashe Regimond Tagwirei and Wicknell Chivayo.

The protests, scheduled for March 31, saw minimal public participation and were widely dismissed, leading to Geza’s swift expulsion from the party.

Garwe’s public plea for forgiveness signals a potential shift in the party’s approach to internal dissent, as ZANU-PF seeks to consolidate unity amid ongoing political and economic challenges.
