Tension Rises in South Africa as Political Party Demands Deportation of High-Profile Zimbabweans

JOHANNESBURG – A fresh wave of anti-immigrant sentiment has erupted in South Africa, with the Patriotic Alliance (PA) explicitly targeting prominent Zimbabwean media personalities and musicians, including veteran broadcaster Peter Ndoro and rapper Nadia Nakai, demanding their deportation.

In a fiery address, the party’s Deputy Secretary for Women’s Affairs, Victoria Africa, declared that South Africa has “enough capable” and “intelligent” citizens to fill roles in media and entertainment, arguing that the length of time a person has lived in the country “does not matter.”

“We don’t want foreigners to come here and speak for us. We don’t want foreigners here to come and represent us,” she stated.

“We want all of these people deported back to their countries… We want them gone.”

The PA official issued a direct threat to one of South Africa’s most recognizable news anchors.

“We are also coming for the likes of Peter Ndoro,” she announced.

“He’s a TV presenter in South Africa. Who said we cannot present our own TV shows in South Africa?”

She argued that after gaining experience, Ndoro should now leave.

“Now that he has got enough skill and knowledge and experience, we are expecting him to return back to his country of origin and help his country, Zimbabwe,” Africa said, making the unsubstantiated claim that “they don’t even have a TV station there… because the TV presenters that are capable in Zimbabwe are migrating to foreign countries.”

The criticism extended to the music industry, where Africa took aim at award-winning artists.

“Their musicians, the likes of Nadia Nakai. We don’t want Nadia Nakai to represent us,” she said.

“She must go back to her country and represent her Zimbabwean people.”

She also targeted musician Sha Sha, accusing her of “speaking local languages, pretending to be South Africans.”

Her message concluded with a stark warning directed at foreign nationals across the continent:

“We want all those people gone. It’s time to fix Africa and all these Africans that are currently in South Africa will be pushed back.”
