He urged citizens to support the council’s efforts to achieve smart city status by embracing self-discipline and a culture of cleanliness.

Drawing from a recent international trip, the Mayor highlighted a model for the city to emulate.

“I recently went to Osaka… a city of 18 million people… I did not see in the five days I was there a single bin in the city but I also did not see a single plastic bottle or refuse on the ground and that is because the people are self-disciplined,” he said.

The Mayor expressed gratitude for the recent philanthropic support from the business community, including the 50 bins from Altcom and a previous donation of 60 refuse bins worth US$6,900 from Masters Paint and Hardware, stating that such partnerships are vital for the city’s development.

Follow us on social media for breaking news:
· X (Twitter): @ZimGbc
· Instagram: @ZimGBCNews
· TikTok: @ZimGBCNews_01
· Facebook: Zim GBC News
· YouTube: Zim GBC News

Get real-time alerts on WhatsApp:
+263 773 820 323

Zim GBC News | Global News From An African Perspective©2025

Zim GBC News | Gender and Community BULAWAYO – Three Bulawayo City Council (BCC) municipal police officers were attacked on Wednesday while conducting a clean-up operation along 5th Avenue in…

[128

post-9807","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-community-and-gender-affairs
["GET
