BULAWAYO \u2013 Police in Bulawayo are investigating a violent armed robbery that occurred at a local night club in New Lobengula in the early hours of Monday, leaving two employees injured.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The incident took place on September 29, 2025, at around 3 AM. According to police, the 45-year-old female manager from Emakhandeni was at work when she heard a knock at the back door.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Upon opening, she was confronted by two masked men armed with a black pistol, a knife, and an electric shocker.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe manager screamed for help, prompting one of the assailants to stab her once at the back of the head, resulting in a deep cut,\u201d said Deputy Press and Public Relations Officer, Assistant Inspector Thandekile Ndlovu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Her screams alerted a male colleague who rushed to the scene, only to be met in the corridor by the attackers who also stabbed him once above the right eye.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The duo then proceeded to the cashier and used an electric shocker on her while demanding money. She surrendered a plastic bag containing US$550.00 and her two cellphones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWhen the robbers demanded more money and were not given, they fired a single shot at the front glass door before fleeing through the back door,\u201d Asst. Insp. Ndlovu added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A police report was filed, and the two injured victims were ferried to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Authorities have urged the business community to enhance security measures on their premises to prevent such incidents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
They are also appealing to anyone with information that may lead to the arrest of the suspects to report to the nearest police station.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
