HARARE \u2013 Econet Wireless Zimbabwe has unveiled its new ‘SmartSuite’ Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) data packages, offering six tailored plans to meet the diverse needs of customers, from individual users to small and medium enterprises.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The new packages, which replace the existing SmartBiz service, range from the ‘SmartLite’ plan offering 50GB for light users to the ‘SmartPro’ package providing 800GB for established SMEs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The intermediate plans include ‘SmartPlus’ (75GB for families), ‘SmartMax’ (100GB for larger homes and freelancers), ‘SmartFlex’ (200GB for small offices) and ‘SmartUltra’ (400GB for heavy multi-users and SMEs).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In a statement, Econet said the new packages offer “flexible plans that grow with your needs,” adding that customers on the old SmartBiz service can easily migrate by dialing *143# and selecting their preferred package.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A key feature of the new SmartSuite service is geo-locking technology, which restricts usage to a customer’s registered location.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Geo-locking ensures customers get the best possible usage experience while enabling service providers to ringfence critical resources such as bandwidth,” the company explained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The packages require a 4G or 5G CPE router, which customers can purchase from Econet shops or use their existing compatible devices. New subscribers will need to obtain a SmartSuite SIM from Econet outlets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Econet, which operates Zimbabwe’s largest 4G network with 300 5G base stations across major cities, emphasized that the new fixed wireless packages complement its existing mobile data products that remain available for on-the-go connectivity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
