Bulawayo- Five men appeared at Tredgold Magistrates Court facing firearms-related charges after they were allegedly found in possession of an unlicensed pistol and ammunition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to court records, the accused, Vumani Msipa (30), Qhawe Mabhena (43), Conelious Chigara (25), Nkosilomusa Dube (26), and Mongameli Moyo (25), were intercepted at the Beitbridge-Gwanda Tollgate on 21 November 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP), the suspects were travelling in a dark blue Nissan Note (registration AFZ 4527) when they were stopped.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cA search of the vehicle and its occupants led to the recovery of a pistol with erased serial numbers and a loaded magazine. Three additional .32 calibre live rounds were found in one suspect’s trouser pocket\u201d, said Detective Kelvin Muzambi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cNone of the accused produced permits authorising possession of the firearm or ammunition which led to the arrest of all the five suspects on the spot\u201d, he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The suspects were arrested and appeared in court under the Firearms Act Chapter 10:09, with their judgment being held on 27 August 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As the case unfolds, police urge members of the public to report suspicious activities and assist in the fight against violent crime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
