\u200eIn a strongly worded statement, Yadah\u2019s executive and management condemned the incident, describing it as \u201cvicious, cowardly, and despicable.\u201d

\u200eThe club said the attack, reportedly carried out by a sponsor, stemmed from accusations that Gurure had \u201csold the match.\u201d

\u200e\u201cWe have ZERO TOLERANCE for violence of any kind. These barbaric and utterly unacceptable acts have absolutely no place in football or in civilized society,\u201d Yadah Football Club Executive and Management.

\u200eYadah pledged to stand firmly behind their goalkeeper, vowing to pursue every available legal channel and to cooperate fully with law enforcement.

\u200e The club also confirmed that an internal investigation is underway, emphasizing that the perpetrators acted independently and without the sanction of its leadership.

\u200eThe statement further included an apology to Gurure, his teammates, stakeholders, and the wider football community, assuring that such behavior \u201cwill NOT be tolerated.\u201d

\u200eMeanwhile, the Premier Soccer League (PSL) has launched an official investigation after receiving a complaint from the Footballers Union of Zimbabwe (FUZ).

\u200eIn a press release issued on 24 August 2025:

\u200eThe PSL said it had requested detailed reports from Yadah FC, in addition to the standard match documents, to establish the facts of the incident.

\u200eThe League stressed that the safety and welfare of players remain a top priority, and pledged to take disciplinary action once investigations are complete.

\u200eThe PSL added that it would not issue further comment until all reports have been reviewed.
\u200e
\u200eThe incident has sparked outrage across Zimbabwe\u2019s football fraternity, with growing calls for stronger player protection and greater accountability from clubs.
