Thousands of Johanne Masowe Chishanu followers are set to gather in Domboshava next week for their annual gathering, one of the biggest events in the local religious circles. In a grand gesture, prominent follower and businessman Wicknell Chivayo donated 10 luxury buses, worth around $1.95 million, to ease transportation burdens for church members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“This is my small way of contributing towards easing the burden of transporting my fellow church members to and from our places of worship,” Chivayo said. “This is money well spent for the glory of God and the joy of His people.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The buses, emblazoned with the face of Baba Johanne, the church’s founder, will serve 10 branches across the country. Chivayo emphasized that the buses are for exclusive church use and not for hire or resale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The lavish gift comes after Vice President Constantino Chiwenga recently castigated the display of wealth, sparking debate on the role of materialism in society. Chivayo’s donation, however, highlights the importance of faith and unity in his life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Johanne Masowe Chishanu stands as one of the biggest indigenous churches, with more than three million members and a history dating back to 1931,” Chivayo said. “It was then that Baba Johanne, called by the Holy Spirit, began praying for the healing and prosperity of Africa, the continent of Africans.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As the church prepares for its annual gathering, Chivayo’s gift serves as a reminder of the power of faith, unity, and compassion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
