It&#8217;s an honor creating work that will outlive us, reaching audiences globally.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From Church Pews to Center Stage<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Master H&#8217;s musical journey began in 1996 at Brethren in Christ Church, evolving through:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>2004: School marimba band debut<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2013: Formation of Afro Cosecadora Jazz Band<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2016: Career-altering mentorship under producer Godwin Smalls<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;That connection opened doors to work with Gazelimnyama, Sandra Ndebele, Hudson Simbarashe and other giants,&#8221; he reflected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Defying the Doubters<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The musician addressed skeptics who questioned pursuing music professionally:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;They said &#8216;How will you eat?&#8217; But 29 years later, here we are. Passion fuels sustainability in this industry.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When pressed to name his magnum opus, Master H demurred:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;That&#8217;s like choosing a favorite child. Every project gets my absolute best &#8211; that&#8217;s non-negotiable.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Wisdom for the Next Generation<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To emerging artists, the veteran offered hard-won advice:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Value your craft like your life depends on it &#8211; because it does.
