Bulawayo & Masvingo, Zimbabwe \u2013 Two separate cases of violent crime and theft landed suspects in court this week, highlighting ongoing challenges with property crime and assault.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Bulawayo Man Charged with TV Theft, WhatsApp Sale<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Jordan Ncube (31) of Njube appeared before Western Commonage magistrate Mr. Archie Wochiwunga on charges of unlawful entry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The State, represented by prosecutor Ms. Audrey Kufandikanwe, alleges that on June 18, Ncube and accomplice Mncedisi (still at large) broke into Ms. Isabel Moyo\u2019s Entumbane home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The duo reportedly forced open a padlock, stealing a 43-inch Luxuco plasma TV and an OpenView decoder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Shockingly, Ncube allegedly advertised the TV on WhatsApp the next day, selling it for US$130 to Wellington Mthunzi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Police tracked the sale, leading to Ncube\u2019s arrest and recovery of the TV,” stated investigating officer Sergeant Tapiwa Nyoni.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“The decoder remains missing, and we urge the public to help locate Mncedisi.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ncube was remanded in custody until July 23.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a separate incident, Albert Mushuma (22) appeared before Masvingo Magistrate Arafat Kozanai charged with attempted murder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Prosecutors allege Mushuma stabbed Bothwell Wushe in the mouth during a dispute over a sex worker, Blessing Hawu, at Manyama Business Centre on June 6.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to witnesses, Wushe approached Hawu, who refused his advances. Mushuma and an accomplice arrived, leading to a confrontation where Mushuma allegedly stabbed Wushe\u2019s lower lip, causing him to lose two front teeth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Violence is never the solution,” emphasized Masvingo police spokesperson Inspector Lorraine Ndlovu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“We\u2019re searching for the second suspect and urge community restraint.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mushuma remains in custody pending trial.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
