{"id":730,"date":"2022-06-17T13:22:36","date_gmt":"2022-06-17T13:22:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/zimgbcnews.co.zw\/?p=730"},"modified":"2022-06-17T13:22:38","modified_gmt":"2022-06-17T13:22:38","slug":"chinamasa-new-zimra-commissioner-general","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/zimgbcnews.co.zw\/?p=730","title":{"rendered":"Chinamasa New Zimra Commissioner General"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>01 February 2022<br>Jeremiah Harrison<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ms Regina Chinamasa has been appointed the acting Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (Zimra) Commissioner General.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Chinamasa is taking over from Rameck Masaire who is reported to have retired from the Authority on January 31st.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Reports by Nhau\/Indaba state that Commissioner Chinamasa is a tax expert with over 28 years of diverse experience in the field of revenue mobilisation<br>and enforcement of compliance to fiscal laws.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the tax man, Comm. Chinamasa is credited for<br>introducing various processes that are plugging revenue leakages through modern investigative and<br>compliance systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;She also has vast experience in domestic taxes and customs and excise fields.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Ms Chinamasa started her career as a Tax Assessor in 1994 in the then Department of Taxes and joined the<br>Investigation Division of ZIMRA at its inception in 2001.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\nhttps:\/\/chat.whatsapp.com\/HLTr91OAOOZ3jHdEI7418Z\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;She moved to Customs and Excise in 2011 as Head of Compliance and Risk Management. She was part of<br>the team that introduced the authorised economic operators (AEOs) trade facilitation, post clearance audits<br>among other innovations.<br>From 2014, she moved to Domestic Taxes and served in various leadership roles from Head level to acting<br>as Commissioner Domestic Taxes between 2016 and 2018.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In an interview with Nhau\/Indaba Josephine Matambo ZIMRA Board vice-chairperson also commented on Chinamasa,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;During her career, she led various strategic and transformative initiatives and processes which resulted in improved stakeholder engagements, improved compliance levels and reinforcement and strengthening of<br>revenue collection processes of the Authority&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Her duties as the commissioner general begins on the 1st of February 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Zim GBC News<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>01 February 2022Jeremiah Harrison Ms Regina Chinamasa has been appointed the acting Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (Zimra) Commissioner General.
