Themba Mliswa has said he will ‘drink to Owen Ncube being dismissed’ from his position as Minister.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Describing the sacking of the ‘machete gang leader’ as the ‘Best Move Ever’, Mliswa tweeted,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“BEST MOVE EVER!! Sources say this letter was handed to him whilst he was conducting a CIO Director\u2019s meeting this morning. Hamba! I told you we didn\u2019t need this guy, he created too many problems and was a huge liability to not only the Party, but to

too”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Monday President Emmerson Mnangagwa releaved Owen Mudha Ncube of his duties of State Security Minister.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This was confirmed in a press statement by Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet Misheck J.M. Sibanda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This comes after the President warned of the same in October 2021 after Mudha was allegedly involved in ZANU-PF factional battles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Acting Chief Cabinet Secretary George Charamba said Ncube was removed for “conduct inappropriate for a minister of government,” but did not elaborate further.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Norton independent legislator, Hon. Mliswa, in previous times had bemoaned the conduct of Owen Mhuda Ncube.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some of the shenanigans by Ncube were reported by My Zimbabwe online article last year,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Temba Mliswa exposed CIO Minister Owen Ncube and July Moyo’s evil plot against Mnangagwa,” said the article.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ncube who is alleged to have gained his post because of his tendencies of being violent has ironically been sacked for the same tendencies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sources claim that Mudha is linked to Al Shabaab, a violent vigilante group which is accused of a string of murders in the Midlands Province.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His sacking comes soon after an alleged use of machete gangs against opponents in order to gain votes during the Zanu-PF internal Provincial Elections which took place two weeks back.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is alleged that lately, Ncube mobilised members of the Al Shabaab and sent them to intimidate Zanu PF officials during a provincial meeting called to confirm winners of the same internal elections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He allegedly arrived at the meeting with two mini buses, packed with youths carrying machetes, ready to attack.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ncube was allegedly unhappy after he was forced to withdraw from the race to become Zanu-PF’s Chairman in Midlands, in favour of Larry Mavhima who was “imposed” by the President Emmerson Mnangagwa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His actions thus caused disharmony in the ruling Zanu-PF party.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The controversial Ncube is said to be the one who ordered a three-day internet shutdown in January 2019 during nationwide protests against steep fuel price increases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The protests resulted in the death of several innocent citizens. There were several abirtrary arrests as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In October of the same year, the United States cited him for “gross violations of human rights” and added him to the sanctions list.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“In addition, while in his position, the government of Zimbabwe has at times used so-called ‘ferret teams’ to abduct and beat individuals deemed to be a threat to the ruling Zimbabwe African National Union-Patriot Front. Ncube is being designated for being responsible for, or participating in, human rights abuses related to political repression in Zimbabwe.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ncube\u2019s rise to power was criticised due to what the public opined as “limited education”, as well as lack of war credentials. His reign was due to use of terror to subjugate opponents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Themba Mliswa’s twitter thread continues,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

‘Our security system was a laughing stock. How does one who hasn\u2019t been in the struggle, has no experience and is uneducated comprehend and formulate security strategies?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
