South African Deputy President Paul Mashatile was hospitalized on Saturday after fainting on stage while delivering a speech at the N’wamitwa Day event in Tzaneen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“I can confirm that Deputy President Paul Mashatile is in a stable condition after being rushed to the hospital,” said Limpopo Premier Dr. Phophi Ramathuba.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mashatile, who is also the chairperson of the Presidential Task Team, was addressing the audience on issues related to Traditional and Khoisan leaders when he suddenly collapsed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“It’s possible that heat exhaustion may have contributed to his collapse, but we will have to wait for further medical evaluation to determine the exact cause,” Dr. Ramathuba added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Eyewitnesses described the scene as “chaotic” as security officers and emergency personnel quickly assisted Mashatile off the podium.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“I was shocked to see the Deputy President collapse like that. It was a scary moment, but thankfully, he received immediate attention,” said one witness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The incident has raised concerns about Mashatile’s health, but Dr. Ramathuba urged the public not to be alarmed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“We will provide updates as more information becomes available,” she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The specific location where Mashatile was taken for medical treatment has not been disclosed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As the country waits for further updates on Mashatile’s condition, many are wishing him a speedy recovery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“We wish Deputy President Mashatile a speedy recovery and hope he returns to his duties soon,” said a government official.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
