Families living in Jacob’s Farm, Ekurhuleni, South Africa, are facing dire living conditions, with overcrowding severely impacting their well-being and personal relationships.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“We’re raising our children in conditions we wish we could avoid\u2026 Everything happens here. It’s stressful and uncomfortable,” said a frustrated mother.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Four families are forced to share a single house, limiting intimacy and privacy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Couples can’t even have private moments\u2026 When some are drunk, they make noise, and it’s uncomfortable,” said Ntombekhaya Bekwa, a former farmworker.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Bekwa criticized politicians for neglecting their struggles, saying,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“They come for photos, seeking donations or benefits\u2026 It’s disheartening. Our children aren’t working, and we need jobs to improve our circumstances.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The community is calling for government intervention to renovate and expand their living spaces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“We have space in the yards\u2026 We hope the municipality can create separate living areas for families,” Bekwa pleaded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Former farmworkers echoed Bekwa’s sentiments, highlighting the need for privacy and personal space.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Living in cramped quarters is stressful and uncomfortable\u2026 We need decent conditions to raise our children,” said one resident.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The community urges local authorities to address their concerns and provide a better environment for their families.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
