Beyonc\u00e9’s Country Music endeavors have been met with a surprising snub, as she received zero nominations for the Country Music Awards (CMAs) despite her popular country song “Texas Hold ‘Em”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Fans had hoped her album “Cowboy Carter” would make history as the first by a Black woman to be nominated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“I was inspired by feelings of unwelcomeness in the country music scene,” Beyonc\u00e9 shared on Instagram, referencing her 2016 CMA experience where she faced backlash for performing with The Chicks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Meanwhile, Morgan Wallen led the nominations, just three years after facing suspension for using a racial slur. Shaboozey, who features on “Cowboy Carter”, made history as the first Black male artist to simultaneously top both the country chart and Billboard Hot 100.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Beyonc\u00e9’s exclusion from the CMAs has raised eyebrows, especially given her 12 nominations for the 2024 People’s Choice Country Awards. The CMA has not commented on her snub, but the Album of the Year award considers factors like performance and production quality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Winners will be announced on November 20 at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena, with nominees including Kacey Musgraves, Luke Combs, Chris Stapleton, Cody Johnson, and Jelly Roll.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
