A top Zanu-PF official in Manicaland is facing trouble for allegedly stealing thousands of dollars’ worth of timber from Allied Timbers in Chimanimani.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“We do not work with thieves, and that is the reason we terminated his contract,” said Remigio Nenzou, CEO of Allied Timbers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Law Tiengane, the managing director of Climb Harder Private Limited, had his contract with Allied Timbers terminated due to the alleged theft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to a letter of termination, Allied Timbers discovered discrepancies in the tally workbook and purchased logs invoice register, indicating under-declared and unrecorded volumes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“This constitutes a clear violation of the terms and conditions outlined in the contract,” the letter reads.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Tiengane was accused of stealing 192.21 cubic meters of pine logs between November 29, 2023, and April 29 this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“The under-declaration and un-recorded volumes directly contravene the Allied Timber Zimbabwe standard operating procedures, and such actions are unacceptable and detrimental to the business between our companies,” the letter states.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Allied Timbers terminated the contract due to the severity of the actions and the breach of trust.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Therefore, we advise that the contract agreement between ourselves has been terminated with immediate effect,” the letter concludes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Tiengane refused to comment on the matter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
