An explosion has rocked Bree Street and Rissik in Johannesburg Central Business District this evening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The cause of the explosion is yet to be ascertained as there has been no comment from relevant authorities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The explosion, which some believe was an earthquake, ripped a stretch of Bree overturning Commuter Omnibus Taxis during rush hour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Eyewitnesses say a few people have been reported injured and several vehicles were damaged in the process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Amature videos and images show Several overturned cars and ripped tarmac.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
An eyewitness posted that over ten commuter taxis were affected with passengers inside.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
What is shocking is that onlookers instead of running for dear life, are seen capturing videos and images in the spectacle oblivious of the lurking danger.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At the time of writing this report, emergency units had arrived at the scene and had requested to stay clear of the area to allow for emergency services to work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
