His main grievance is the club choosing to let some of his trusted lieutenants go without seeking his audience.

“Therefore, Sweswe feels he has been disrespected by the club as at the end of the day if results do not come he is the one who gets blamed. He has already received offers elsewhere.

“It is highly unlike he will ever be in charge of Chiefs.” said a Source.

When Sweswe engaged a number of veterans in January and February he is alleged to have defended his stance by saying they would steady the ship and be released half way through the season. They have added value to the side.

In the absence of Sweswe, goalkeepers coach Nkosiyazi Ncube barked instructions from the bench. The club has since hired Dr. Joseph Sibindi as interim manager.

“The Executive at Bulawayo Chiefs F.C. would like to announce that Coach Lizwe Sweswe has tendered his resignation from the club, effective immediately. This was received with sadness, as Coach Lizwe Sweswe has played a great role so far. That being said, The Team will respect his decision.

Meanwhile, assistant coach Dr. Joseph Sibindi will guide this ship while we figure out a way forward in relation to the post of Head Coach.” Reads a statement later released by the team.

Chiefs are on eighth position with 17 points from 13 matches on the long standing.

They are win less in their last four games with two defeats as many stalemates.

Meanwhile, there is good news for the Twitter Kings. A sponsorship deal has been struck with local publishing company Dingani Publishers.

The deal will go a long way in assisting the financially stricken Amakhosi Amahle.

“We are delighted to announce we have entered into partnership with Dingani Publishers, a Bulawayo based publishing company whose care business is publishing of school material.

“We are extremely thrilled this partnership also comes in to address the basic needs of our players, which normally tend to be a financial struggle for our players.

“Through this partnership, Dingani Publishers will, among other things offer stationery vouches to all our registered players valued at US$100 each.

Furthermore, Dingani Publishers will also provide stationery need for the team throughout the year.

“This partnership also comes in to make a long dream of Bulawayo Chiefs media and public relation drive a reality,” said Amakhosi Amahle in a statement.

Zim GBC News

Patricia Moyo LIZWE SWESWE has stepped down as Bulawayo Chiefs Football Club head coach after friction with the club’s top hierarchy.
