Budding stand-up comedian BrandXn M born Mbongeni Brandon Moyo stole the show on Friday the 10th of March 2023, at Bulawayo theater during the Fringe theater show comedy night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The event was hosted by a renowned stand-up comedian Ma- forty. BrandXn M was the first performer for the night and he made a sterling appearance with his jokes which got people in stitches during the whole performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In a exclusive interview with ZIM GBC NEWS, BrandXn M said:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Friday was a blast. It felt like the first real performance of my career so I was proud of myself. The reaction from the crowd was really special to me. Considering I was trying out new material and most of the jokes were unscripted. It was a challenge and it felt amazing to pull through to the end and leaving the crowd satisfied”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
BrandXn M began stand-up comedy in 2021 after he realised that he enjoyed making people laugh and feel good about themselves. He highlighted that in every conversation he made with a person, he made sure the person would always laugh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“What triggered me to become a stand-up comedian is I attended a stand up comedy show with my brother and most of the comedians there were not that good. I then challenged myself and thought i could do better than them and my brother encouraged me to try it. I then had my first performance at a Group Therapy get together. I delivered something which was an unscripted three minute piece but the reception from the crowd was good, from what I could tell”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
BrandXn M likes calling himself a public performer because he excels in public speaking, debate, stand up comedy and motivational speaking. Whenever his school hosted an event or if a prominent person came to the school, he was asked to present a speech. That is when he realised that he was a public performer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“I would like to thank Frank Chirisa and Ma-forty. If it was not them, i don’t think i would be doing stand-up comedy. Ma Forty introduced me to other stand-up comedians from other countries\u00a0 even if he had never seen me perform anywhere. He believed and put his trust in me even if he didn’t know what I’m capable of”, concluded BrandXn M.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
