The truck was travelling from Harare to Bulawayo when it crashed, the chemical was supplied by ETG Curechem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cSodium Cyanide can kill quickly if touched, swallowed, or inhaled, but so far, no chemical has leaked into the environment\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Environmental Management Agency (EMA) says its team is on the ground. They have carried out a risk assessment and are working with relevant stakeholders to safely recover the truck.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The agency continues to closely monitor the situation and ensure that all necessary precautionary measures are implemented to safeguard public health and environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In terms of the law, under Zimbabwe\u2019s Environmental Management Act Chapter 20:27, it is illegal to dump hazardous substances into the environment.
