Ngezi Platinum Football Club goalkeeper coach, Cosmas ‘Tsano’ Zulu says he still has so much to offer football and is not thinking of retiring anytime soon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Zulu who made a name for himself at Highlanders FC told Zim GBC News sports that he has no regrets about having chosen a career in the football industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“My career spun over 55 years in the game in which i captured over 50 silver and gold accolades.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Football has blessed me with wonderful friends and peers such as Ali Baba Dube, one of the best grass roots development coaches in the land,” said Tsano.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In his playing days, Cosmas Zulu turned out for a club called Combined Midlands which he left for Bush Bucks a sister club to Masholand United now Zimbabwe Saints FC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“I also turned out for Eastlands alongside Tymon ” the white horse” Mabaleka, Daniel ‘Dididi’ Ncube, William Chirwa amongst others.” Added Zulu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
From Eastlands, he also had a stint with Olympics which was coached by the late Barry Daka. Olympics was a break away team from Highlanders. Tsano himself had a short spell at Tshilamoya as a player.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
” When Scottish coach Bobby Clark came to Bosso in 1983, he saw potential in me and made me his assistant after the departure of Lawrence Phiri,” said the former Highlanders goalkeeper coach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Tsano goes on to say that the drills he was taught by the Scotsman have made him a successful coach over the years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
You may wonder why they call him “Tsano”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“I came to Bulawayo in 1967 and i had issues with the clicks in isiNdebele language. Whenever i wanted my team mates to pass the ball to me, i kept constantly calling them ‘tsano, tsano’. From there on, my nickname became Tsano.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Cosmas ‘Tsano’ Zulu is now settled at Ngezi Platinum FC in Mhondoro. This year he was awarded the Chairman’s award at Ngezi Platinum’s 2022 award ceremony.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
