The curtain fell on the National Association of Secondary Schools (NASH) 2026 chess games with Bulawayo emerging as the undisputed champion, claiming the title of best province in secondary school chess.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The province\u2019s team \u201cruled the roast\u201d, scooping three gold, three silver and one bronze medal to top the medal tally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last year\u2019s winners, Harare, had to settle for second place this time around, managing three gold, one silver and four bronze medals. Meanwhile, Mashonaland East improved its performance from the previous edition, finishing third and edging past Midlands, which slipped to fourth after being runners-up in 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The medal standings revealed some notable performances. Masvingo grabbed one gold and three silver medals to finish fifth, while Matebeleland North made a striking appearance with a single gold medal and no other metals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Manicaland ended the campaign empty\u2011handed, becoming the only province to walk away without a single medal this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 2027 NASH games will be hosted by Matebeleland South, setting the stage for another intense showdown among Zimbabwe\u2019s secondary school chess talents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
