HARARE \u2013 The Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC) has strongly rejected circulating claims linking its officers to a devastating road accident along the Masvingo-Beitbridge Highway that claimed the lives of a mother and her five children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In a statement issued on Thursday, ZACC expressed “deep sorrow” over the tragedy and extended condolences to the bereaved families while wishing the injured a speedy recovery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
However, the commission raised concern over a viral video and accompanying audio clip alleging that its officers were responsible for the crash. The recordings claim that officials from the anti-graft body instructed a truck driver to divert into a BP service station, leading to the fatal collision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
ZACC has dismissed the allegations as false and misleading.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“The Commission informs the public once again that there are no ZACC officers deployed at any roadblock throughout the country,” the statement read.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The anti-corruption body further warned against the spread of unverified information, urging members of the public to rely on official communication channels for accurate updates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Meanwhile, the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has released the names of the six victims. They have been identified as:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 Nokutenda Mujuru (15)
\u00b7 Makanaka Mujuru (13)
\u00b7 Ronald Junior Mujuru (11)
\u00b7 Rufaro Shalom Mujuru (7)
\u00b7 Kayden Mujuru (3)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
All six were from Tynwald North, Harare.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
National police spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi also dismissed reports linking ZACC to the deadly crash.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“The Zimbabwe Republic Police has no report or confirmation that this sad accident was caused by the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission and the Zimbabwe Republic Police teams. The police dismiss any social media insinuation with the contempt it deserves,” said Nyathi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Authorities have urged the public to refrain from spreading unverified information as investigations into the cause of the tragic accident continue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
