BULAWAYO \u2013 President Emmerson Mnangagwa has this morning arrived at the Zimbabwe International Exhibition Centre in Bulawayo to officially open the 2026 ZimTrade Exporters Conference and Awards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The conference, being held under the theme \u201cRooted Locally, Growing Globally,\u201d brings together policymakers, business leaders, and industry experts to deliberate on strategies for expanding Zimbabwe\u2019s export footprint.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The event is a key fixture on the trade calendar, focusing on value addition and sustainable integration into global markets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The conference, hosted by the national trade development and promotion organization, ZimTrade, serves as a high-level dialogue platform to align government policy with business execution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It features sessions on navigating global value chains and adopting sustainable trade practices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The focus on exports is buoyed by encouraging trade data from the previous year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Zimbabwe recorded a 30% increase in exports, reaching US$9.7 billion in 2025, providing a strong foundation for the strategies being discussed at the event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This Exporters Conference is a standalone event dedicated to trade policy, separate from the main Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) exhibition, which is scheduled to take place in April 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
