BULAWAYO \u2013 Police have launched an investigation following the sudden death of a 41-year-old woman who collapsed at a betting shop in Bulawayo\u2019s Central Business District on Wednesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Josephine Makiwa, a resident of Mpopoma, entered the betting house at around 11 AM.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Witnesses say she sat down, began vomiting unexpectedly, and collapsed shortly thereafter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cShe became unconscious, and the punters who were inside the shop immediately called for an ambulance,\u201d said Inspector Nomalanga Msebele, the Bulawayo Provincial Press and Public Relations Officer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Medical personnel pronounced Makiwa dead upon arrival at the scene.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cInvestigations are in progress,\u201d Insp Msebele confirmed, while extending condolences on behalf of the Zimbabwe Republic Police.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe convey our heartfelt sympathies to the family during this difficult time.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Authorities have not yet established the cause of death. Further details will be provided as the investigation unfolds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
