RESIDENTS of Mkoba in Gweru are living in fear following a series of violent attacks that left three people stabbed at Mkoba 6 Business Centre on Thursday evening, with the suspect still at large.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Midlands Provincial police spokesperson Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko confirmed the incidents, stating that the motive behind the attacks remains unknown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“The victims, Nothando Ncube (34), Oscar Matema (31), and a 13-year-old juvenile, were stabbed in separate incidents within a short distance of each other on Thursday evening,” Inspector Mahoko said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to police, the attacks appear to be random, with no apparent reason or prior interaction between the suspect and victims.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Nothando Ncube and the 13-year-old are receiving treatment at Gweru Provincial Hospital, while Oscar Matema has been discharged,” Inspector Mahoko added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The assailant remains on the loose, sparking fear among Mkoba residents who are now concerned for their safety, particularly around the busy business centre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Police have launched a manhunt for the suspect and are appealing to the public for any information that could lead to his identification and arrest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“We are appealing to members of the public with information that may assist in identifying and apprehending the suspect to come forward,” Inspector Mahoko said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
