Bulawayo-based musician Alloe the Rapper has announced the release of a new extended play (EP) titled Incwadi Yothando, a project he describes as a personal reflection on love, heartache and togetherness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The six-track EP, whose title translates to The Love Letter, is set for release on 10 February across all major digital platforms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to a statement accompanying the announcement, the project explores the depths of love, heartache, and unity, highlighting Alloe\u2019s storytelling style and his blend of AfroFusion, hip hop and tribal trap sounds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Incwadi Yothando includes the track Sondela, featuring Cula Nyon and Bhila, as well as collaborations with JCB, Vuyo Adoe and Mthunzi da Poet. Production on the EP was handled by Trey Albumz.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWith production credits from Trey Albumz, this EP is a testament to Alloe the Rapper\u2019s growth and dedication to their craft,\u201d the statement said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
One of the central themes of the project is captured in the phrase.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cUthando lweqiniso luyiluju egazini. Luyaduduza, luletha ukuthula kwengqondo nenjabulo,\u201d which translates to love as a healing force that brings peace of mind and happiness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Alloe the Rapper, born Allois Ncube, is originally from Matopo and was raised in Mandihongola village in Gwanda. He moved to Bulawayo in 2018, where his musical journey began in a community choir before he launched his solo career in 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
His music combines traditional influences with contemporary beats, often focusing on themes of resilience, identity and creative expression.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Reflecting on his artistic influences, Alloe said his early passion for rap was shaped by American artist Eminem, while later discovering himself through South African musicians.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI may say my inspiration is Sjava, though my all-time favourite was Eminem,\u201d he said to Zim GBC News<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI was so into rap, but discovering myself a lot more was spearheaded by listening to Sjava and Big Zulu.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Over the years, he has worked with artists such as Scarrah and Muth\u2019 Omnyama, as well as producers including Melaya Beatz. His previous projects include the debut album Umkhondo- The Trace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Despite growing recognition, Alloe says funding remains one of the biggest challenges facing independent artists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe bigger challenge is lack of funding for projects,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThis one we still suffer from, though we manage here and there.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
His work has, however, begun to attract wider acclaim. In 2024 and 2025, he received several nominations and won two awards, including Most Performing Artist at the Kokota Festival Awards and Outstanding Musician at the Pumula Royal Arts & Community Awards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Incwadi Yothando is Alloe the Rapper\u2019s latest project, and he says it represents his evolving sound and artistic identity, as he continues to make his mark on Zimbabwe\u2019s music scene.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
