Zimbabwe\u2019s iconic Chimurenga music pioneer, Dr. Thomas Tafirenyika \u201cMukanya\u201d Mapfumo, has declared he is coming home for one final, historic performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The artist, known as \u201cThe Lion of Zimbabwe,\u201d will return in April 2026 for a special curtain call, described as his last-ever show on home soil.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI greet you all, my fellow Zimbabweans. I am Tomas Mapfumo and I am coming home,\u201d the legendary musician announced in a heartfelt message.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThis will be my last performance on a Zimbabwean stage.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The upcoming concert, slated for April with a specific date to be finalized, follows his official retirement from touring in August 2025.
