All high schools across Zimbabwe will open their Lower Sixth form classes in the first week of February, according to a directive from the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education. This follows the recent release of the 2025 Zimbabwe School Examinations Council (ZIMSEC) Ordinary Level results.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In a circular dispatched to all provincial education offices, the Ministry\u2019s Acting Permanent Secretary, Mr. Lameck Mudyiwa, instructed schools to prepare for the impending start of the academic year for Advanced Level students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe commencement date for the 2026 Lower Sixth classes is Monday, February 2, 2026,\u201d stated Mr. Mudyiwa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cPlease, ensure that all heads of schools, teachers, parents and the pupils are advised of this date.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Ministry has also clarified the fees structure for the shortened initial term. Mr. Mudyiwa outlined that payments will be calculated on a pro-rata basis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe fees payable by the Lower Sixth pupils will be on a pro-rata basis, according to the approved Term One fees for each school,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The formula will be based on the \u201cnumber of days remaining in Term One 2026 times total approved Term One fees.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The announcement paves the way for thousands of students who successfully completed their O-Levels to transition to the next stage of their secondary education without delay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
