BULAWAYO \u2013 In a Pastoral letter marking the new year, His Grace Archbishop Alex Thomas of Bulawayo has laid out a comprehensive set of resolutions for 2026, calling on the faithful to embrace forgiveness, mental well-being, and greater collaboration at every level of the Church and family life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Under the unifying motto \u201cOne Faith, Many Voices, One Path,\u201d the archbishop\u2019s plan outlines actionable steps for individuals, families, and parishes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Addressing the personal spiritual journey, Archbishop Thomas urged the faithful to \u201crepent of any wrong-doing at the earliest\u201d and to \u201cmake reconciliation with all a priority in daily life.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The letter also highlights the importance of mental health, teamwork, and responsible social media use.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
For families, the Archbishop called for a conscious emulation of the Holy Family, advocating for daily prayer, shared responsibilities, and transparency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cForgive and Reconcile with everyone in the family,\u201d he advised, further encouraging each household to choose a patron saint for the year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At the parish level, the directives strongly champion the synodal process initiated by Pope Francis. Archbishop Thomas mandated that \u201call decisions and plans to be made in a synodal way,\u201d ensuring maximum participation from all Catholics. He called for \u201cfull transparency in all administrative and financial matters\u201d and announced a parish retreat during Lent, as well as days of prayer and fasting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Archbishop emphasized the need for continuous evaluation, scheduling mid-year and year-end reviews of all activities and workshops on synodality. The Pastoral anniversary letter is to be guided by the scripture passage Ephesians 4:1-6 and the hymn Thina Sonke.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cOur path forward is together, utilizing everyone\u2019s gifts and skills,\u201d Archbishop Thomas stated, underscoring the collective mission outlined in the 2026 resolutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The faithful across the Archdiocese of Bulawayo are expected to begin implementing these pastoral guidelines with immediate effect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
