The Bulawayo Metropolitan Province has thanked the First Lady of Zimbabwe, Dr. Amai Auxillia Mnangagwa, for donating seed to vulnerable communities in the City.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Describing the gesture as one that<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cbrings not only nourishment to households but also hope, dignity, and reassurance.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In a speech delivered on behalf of the Minister of Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Honourable Judith Ncube, the Secretary for Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Mr. Paul Nyoni, emphasized that the seed distribution was more than an act of charity\u2014it was<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201can act of justice and solidarity.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The event, held at Mhlahlandlela, aimed to support the destitute, elderly, persons with disabilities, child-headed families, and others struggling to make ends meet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cBy supporting vulnerable households, the First Lady has enabled children to attend school with dignity, the elderly to live with peace of mind, and families to redirect limited resources to other essential needs such as healthcare and education,\u201d read the speech.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It further commended the First Lady for placing<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cthe welfare of vulnerable groups at the center of national development\u201d and for consistently demonstrating \u201ccompassion, leadership, and commitment to social inclusion.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The province also expressed gratitude for the First Lady\u2019s promise to join the community for the harvest, urging beneficiaries to use the seed productively and uphold the spirit of nation-building encapsulated in the mantra:
\u201cIlizwe lakhwa ngabanikazi balo, Myika inovakwa nevene vayo\u201d a nation is built by its owners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In closing, the speech reaffirmed that the government and its leaders \u201cstand with you, now and always,\u201d and thanked the First Lady for her \u201cnoble gesture,\u201d which strengthens the social fabric and promotes resilience at the household level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
