HARARE \u2013 The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) is appealing to members of the public for assistance in identifying the body of an unknown male adult who was shot during a confrontation with detectives in Hatfield.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to a police statement, the incident occurred on 13 October 2025 along Twentydales Road, where the unidentified man was involved in a shootout with detectives shortly after reportedly stealing a motor vehicle in robbery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe suspect, believed to be between 30 and 35 years old was shot during the confrontation and later died\u201d, said Commissioner Paul Nyathi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In a statement it further states that a post-mortem has since been conducted, and the body is being held at Sally Mugabe Central Hospital Mortuary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Authorities are urging anyone with information that may help identify the deceased or locate his relatives to contact the nearest police station, the National Complaints Desk on (0242) 703631 or send a message via WhatsApp on 0712 800 197.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
