Alloe the Rapper, born Allois Ncube, is a musician from Bulawayo, Born in Matopo and raised in Mandihongola village, Gwanda, he moved to Bulawayo in 2018 and began his musical journey in a community choir before stepping out as a solo artist in 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
His track \u201cIntondolo Emnyama,\u201d featuring Cula Nyon and Mthunzi da Poet, is a powerful anthem of resilience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It combines traditional sounds with contemporary beats, delivering a message of overcoming obstacles and celebrating creative talent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Reflecting on his inspiration, Alloe says,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI may say my inspiration is Sjava, though my all-time favourite was Eminem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
” I was so into rap, but discovering myself a lot more was spearheaded by listening to Sjava and Big Zulu.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
While the local audience can be challenging to break into, he feels supported by those within the music community. Speaking about the industry in Bulawayo, he notes,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe industry has been fractured for long. No system was put in place to make the arts sector generate its own income, but now a lot of movements are in motion to change this and it\u2019s working out perfectly.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He has worked with artists like Scarrah, Muth\u2019 Omnyama, and producers such as Melaya Beatz on various projects, including his debut album \u201cUmkhondo – The Trace.\u201d Still, he highlights funding as a major hurdle:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe bigger challenge is lack of funding for projects. This one we still suffer from, though we manage here and there.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
His efforts haven\u2019t gone unnoticed. In 2024 and 2025, he earned several nominations and won two awards, including Most Performing Artist at the Kokota Festival Awards and Outstanding Musician at the Pumula Royal Arts & Community Awards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Through it all, Alloe remains focused on growth and unity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI have learnt a lot in this industry,\u201d he says,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cbut mainly I admire the idea of collaboration and uplifting each other wherever possible.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
With more music on the way, Alloe the Rapper continues to trace his own path, honoring his roots while reaching for new heights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
