DURBAN \u2013 In a significant development in a case that has gripped the nation, two men accused of murdering celebrated South African rapper Kiernan \u201cAKA\u201d Forbes have been extradited from Eswatini and arrived in Durban to face trial, nearly two years after the fatal shooting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The suspects, brothers Siyabonga Gezani Ndimande and Malusi Dave Ndimande, landed at King Shaka International Airport yesterday morning before 10:00 a.m. They were arrested earlier this year by the Eswatini Royal Police and subsequently abandoned their legal challenge against extradition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Their arrival means all key suspects in the high-profile case are now in South African custody. However, for AKA\u2019s mother, Lynn Forbes, the milestone brought no solace, only a renewed wave of grief.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In a heartfelt Instagram post that has resonated widely, she expressed her enduring pain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIf you were the one coming home today \u2026 that would be justice for me,\u201d she wrote.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cEverything else is just process. This South African air is suffocating today \u2026 I cannot breathe.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Ndimande brothers now join five other accused already in custody. In addition to the murder charges for the deaths of AKA and his close friend Tebello \u201cTibz\u201d Motsoane, the pair reportedly face 23 other counts linked to organized criminal activity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The two were shot dead in a brazen ambush outside Wish Restaurant on Florida Road, Durban, on February 10, 2023. Chilling CCTV footage of the coordinated attack, which was widely circulated online, sparked national outrage and led to widespread calls for justice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Public reaction to Lynn Forbes\u2019 post has been one of overwhelming support and shared frustration. Musician Jennifer Bala commented,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cSending much love and loads of hugs\u2026 the trauma and damage is irreversible so I pray you find strength and peace to breathe and keep going.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
