\u200eThe Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) has announced the appointment of Marian (Mario) Marinica as the new head coach of the Zimbabwe Senior Men\u2019s National Football Team, the Warriors, on a one-year contract.

\u200eMarinica, a UEFA Pro-Licensed coach, brings over 25 years of international coaching and technical experience across Africa, Europe, Asia, and South America.

\u200e His impressive qualifications include a Postgraduate Diploma in Sports Coaching from South Bank University (England) and a Diploma in Management, reflecting a solid blend of technical expertise and leadership skills.

\u200eThroughout his distinguished career, Marinica has worked with elite clubs such as Arsenal, Chelsea, Inter Milan, AS Monaco, Liverpool, and Tottenham Hotspur, as well as national teams from Paraguay, Mauritius, Malawi, and Liberia.

\u200e Notably, he guided Malawi to their best-ever finish at the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations, reaching the Round of 16, and steered Liberia to become the highest climber in the FIFA World Rankings in June 2024.

\u200eZIFA President Nqobile Magwizi welcomed the appointment, expressing confidence in Marinica\u2019s ability to elevate Zimbabwean football.
