Bulawayo- A 34-year-old man from Matshemhlophe, Ronald Shumba appeared in court after he was caught with two containers of suspected stolen diesel at the National Railways of Zimbabwe (NRZ) Diesel Shed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The incident took place on 10 October 2025 at around 9pm, when Shumba was stopped by the National Railways of Zimbabwe (NRZ) security guard while during a blue Honda Fit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cShumba was stopped at the NRZ main gate while driving a blue Honda Fit<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cSecurity guard Gerald Dhliwayo (25), who was on duty searched the vehicle and found two 30-litre containers filled with diesel\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Shumba allegedly failed to provide a satisfactory explanation or proof of ownership of the fuel upon being caught. He was apprehended at the exit gate, and the diesel was recovered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Shumba was charged with the crime of theft as defined in Section 113(1) of the Criminal Law ( Codification and Reform) Act Chapter 9:23. He is currently facing charges with pending further court proceedings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As this case unfolds, it underscores the need for accountability in the transportation and storage of fuel, it serves as a reminder of the role vigilance and law enforcement play in curbing such crimes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
