The Authority called for responsible water use from all sectors, including farmers, local authorities, and businesses.

Munyonga also urged those drawing water from public dams to formalize their usage through water abstraction agreements with ZINWA.

“Users are advised to come forward and sign water abstraction agreements with ZINWA so that their water allocations can be reserved in the dams,”

She stated, emphasizing that unauthorized abstraction violates the Water Act and hampers sustainable resource management.

To curb illegal water use, ZINWA announced it is increasing surveillance along river systems and urged the public to report any suspected cases of unlawful abstraction.

“Collective responsibility and compliance are key to ensuring that Zimbabwe continues to enjoy reliable access to water throughout the dry season. Sustainable water use today guarantees water security for tomorrow,” Munyonga added.

Follow us on social media:
・X (Twitter): @ZimGbc
・Instagram: @ZimGBCNews
・TikTok: @ZimGBCNews_01
・Facebook: Zim GBC News
・YouTube: Zim GBC News

Get real-time alerts on WhatsApp:
+263 773 820 323

For in-depth coverage, visit our website: www.zimgbcnews.co.zw

Zim GBC News | Global News From An African Perspective©2025

Zim GBC News | Gender and Community The Zimbabwe National Water Authority (ZINWA) has confirmed that the country remains in a secure water position, with national dam levels averaging 76.1…

[128

post-10212","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-community-and-gender-affairs
["GET
