BULAWAYO \u2013 A 38-year-old man from Old Magwegwe, Brighton Dube, has been convicted of unlawful entry and disturbing the peace after forcibly entering his ex-wife\u2019s home in violation of a protection order.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dube appeared before the Tredgold Magistrates\u2019 Court following the 26 July 2025 incident, where he reportedly broke into his ex-wife\u2019s home at night while she was with her boyfriend and children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the state\u2019s case, Dube gained entry by breaking through a window and went on to cause further damage inside the house.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cDespite a standing protection order, he allegedly disrupted the complainant\u2019s peace and exposed her nakedness in front of her children\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Presiding Magistrate Taurai Manuwere convicted Dube under Section 131 and Section 83 of the Criminal Law (Codification and Reform) Act [Chapter 9:23], which criminalise unlawful entry and disturbing the peace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIt is high time men understand that once separated, they must respect boundaries and not invade a woman\u2019s privacy,\u201d said Magistrate Manuwere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dube was sentenced to five years in prison, with 12 months suspended on condition that he does not commit a similar offence and leads a responsible life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
